This was CWE #25 on Jix. It's official title was "Every CWE Deserves a Second Chance...BINGO! Throughout the year they revisited past CWEs. I think I only participated in this challenge - a prompt a day for the month of January. They could be just little snippets. I pretty much did them while sitting in the car waiting for kids to get out of school and wrote them in the notes on my phone. I did not save the prompts - sometimes it was just one word, sometimes it was a picture, some times a quote or song lyric or lines from a poem. Finally, 4 years later, I'm putting them on this blog that no one ever looks at. Which is fine. Being as it's pretty much all Trixie Belden fanfic, it has a very select audience. I'm hoping to participate in JixWriMo next month, I mean, why not, I'm not really working so I should have a little more time -ha, ha, ha. And there are some of these little snippets that I would like to lengthen so I thought this would be a good chance. So here we go.
DAY 1: BLUSH (1/1/22)
"It's pink," Trixie moaned to her best friend. "Why does it have to be pink? I'm 500 months pregnant and I'm going to look like freaking Peppa Pig!"
Honey burst out laughing. "You're not 500 months pregnant. I'm more pregnant than you are. And I know it hasn't been that many months!"
Before Trixie could think of a retort, their other best friend popped into the dressing room. "You guys look great! I knew that shade would be perfectly perfect on both of you."
Trixie glared at Diana Lynch, soon to be her sister-in-law. "Di, it's pink. Seriously, why pink?"
"Trix," she replied with a smile, "this isn't pink, it's blush."
Throwing her hands in the air, Trixie replied, "Blush, pink, whatever. I'm huge, I'm going to look like Peppa Pig."
"You are not huge. You're just pregnant. You both have such cute baby bumps."
Trixie snorted, "Honey looks elegant and she has a cute baby bump. I look frazzled and like I'm trying out for the Pillsbury doughboy."
Ignoring her two friends reassuring comments, Trixie looked in the three way mirror once more. The bridesmaid dress wasn't that bad. Di had found a style that looked good both on her short pregnant body and Honey's willowy pregnant body. But, really, pink? Then another thought struck her. Di could've gone with her childhood favorite color of purple. Blush suddenly looked much more appealing...if the dress had been purple she'd look like Violet "You're turning violet, Violet!" Beauregard - the giant blueberry girl in Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory! Her brother, Mart, would never have let her forget that one!
